Scopes are categories that organize greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions according to their source, according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) – the most widely used international standard for emission inventories.

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from the company (e.g., boilers, own fleet).
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy (e.g., grid electricity).
  • Scope 3: All other indirect emissions from the value chain (e.g., suppliers, transport, product use).
